July 20th marked a great day for the children of Blount County. The ETCW once again delivered in a big way to help these kids get
a great start for the new school year by giving away 200 new backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies! Special events like these are the heart of ETCW and their way of giving back to the community. Not only did they deliver to the incredible turnout for the school drive but they also delivered 5 action-packed matches from the ETCW Superstars for free to everyone in attendance as another way of giving back to the community.
So let's quickly run down the card for the July 20th event.
First was the Iron Horseman, Jim Strickland, vs Jake Pheonix (Debut) The newcomer Jake Pheonix gave a valiant effort against the more experienced Iron Horseman but Jakes inexperience got the better of him as he was put to sleep with the Iron Horsemans Cobra Clutch! Winner: The Iron Horseman
Next on the card was Lumberjack Josh White vs (The Rogue Nations) Mick O'Malley with Pappy O'Malley This was a tough battle as both of these brutes went fist to fist and toe to toe with a little Pappy O'Malley thrown in the mix. During the match, the burly Lumberjack injured his ribs and the beatdown continued. Mick got the pin and the win! Winner: Mick O'Malley
Next up was Ravishing Rex Riley vs Eli Green. These two highflyers faced each other before and Eli "The Ninja Turtle" Green got the victory. The same thing happened yet again! Riley dove into the corner to give Eli a big splash but Eli moved out of the way and rolled the ravishing one up for the three count. Another victory for Eli over Ravishing Rex Riley. Like before Riley congratulated Eli by raising his hand in victory but then the ravishing one turned on Eli and started hitting him with some well-placed chair shots that took him out! Rex's partner Blake attempted to stop him but got a chair shot of his own! Ravishing Rex Riley looks like he's flipped that switch and is bringing out his not so friendly side. It will be interesting to see what happens next with Rex and his future in ETCW. The Commissioner, Wayne Atchley. suspended Ravishing Rex Riley for 20 days because of his actions in the ring. Social Media is buzzing about Ravishing Rex Riley. I believe some are keeping a close eye on him just to see what he does next. Winner: Eli Green
Up next on the card is Capt. War Dogg vs World Heavyweight Champion, The Enforcer. This match only lasted 4 minutes as Mick O'Malley and Pappy O'Malley stormed the ring and interfered in the match. The War Dogg won by disqualification but the Rogue Nation gave a beat down to him proving why this faction seems to be unstoppable! Even Nino Young and Jordan Albee from Ole Ben Franklin attempted to save the War Dogg but the power of the Rogue Nation was simply too much for them to handle as Nino and Jordan felt the wrath of the Rogue Nation themselves. Winner: Cap. War Dogg
The last match of the evening was Hunter Wolfe vs So Cal Kevin Cruze. Kevin Cruze tried to keep his distance from the young giant by striking when he could and at a distance. Those attacks were to no avail as Hunter got his hands finally on So Cal. Showing once again the power he has as well as his resilence. Hunter took two of the best superkicks in the biz from So Cal Kevin Cruze but Hunter would not go down! So Cal had enough and hit Wolfe with a board to get himself disqualified. The bad blood between Hunter Wolfe and So Cal Kevin Cruze is escalating and like I've said before... you are waking a sleeping giant and he is getting ready to roar! Winner: Hunter Wolfe
The night was a great success, giving away backpacks for the kids and having a very entertaining evening of East Tennessee Championship Wrestling at its finest. You will not want to miss the next ETCW event August 3rd at the Springbrook Gymnasium in Alcoa, Tennessee! This is another special event that you are going to love supporting! ETCW is partnering with Ashley Shultz for the Blount County Affairs Veterans Food Pantry. The event details can be found here.
Until next time...
